A very warm welcome to our Accordion Club, located in Norwich, Norfolk, a beautiful city in East Anglia, England. The club consists of about 25 members playing two groups 'The Band' and 'The Troshers'. We all enjoy playing the Accordion in our groups, entertaining and taking part in concerts.
The Band is an intermediate/advanced Accordion group with 13 players including a drummer.
Adrian Crotch is our Musical Director and with his enthusiasm and extensive experience of the Accordion, he ably leads us with a repertoire spanning a wide range of styles from classical and folk to show tunes and popular music. He is happy to tailor our concerts to your requirements.
Being a more advanced group, it is ideal for musicians with existing musical experience such as established accordionists or pianists who want to play music as part of a vibrant, dynamic band. Several of our band members are pianists who have transitioned to playing the accordion later in life and enjoy the camaraderie of playing with other musicians. Please come and visit us to find out how you can belong to our group.
A mixed ability Accordion group focused on providing support for beginners and those just starting out on their Accordion career or who prefer a more relaxed pace. It started as a beginners'
group in 1990 and now consists of 17 members. We also have a wide range of tunes on offer, with sing-a-longs being popular favourites.
We pride ourselves on being a friendly and approachable group and we are always looking for new players to swell our numbers in both groups.
If you can read music and have a basic knowledge of the accordion or piano please come along. And you never know, you may just fall in love with the Accordion as all our members have done! We have some instruments available for low-cost hire to get you started.
The club has had several exchange visits with Lorenskog Accordion Club in Norway attended by members of both groups. This is the opening piece played by the band at a combined concert held there. Mit Harmonika Gruss - 'An Accordion Welcome'
